Starting Children on The Right Track to Learning

 

Our Preschool was started over thirty years ago as a mission to the community to provide a foundation of  learning both socially and academically that will help children succeed once they enter elementary school.

​

At that time, we were one of very few preschools in our area.  Over the years, more preschools have opened in our community.  More recently, the public school system in Columbiana as well as the surrounding communities have also started offering preschool.  Many of these preschools also offer daycare service; however, this is not something that JLC is able to offer to the parents.

​

Therefore, after many prayers and much discussion, the JLC Preschool Board and the JLC Church Council have made the difficult decision to close at the end of this school year.  With the numerous preschools and daycares in our immediate area, we know that the young children of our community will have their needs fulfilled.

​

We are grateful that our preschool was able to give so much care and learning to the children over the years.  It has been truly rewarding to have helped form the lives of all these precious children.  Many, many thanks to all the teachers who have served over the years -- Miss Laurie, Miss Heidi, and most recently Miss Rene.  We would like to express our appreciation for all the assistants, helpers, and Grandma volunteers who gave of their time; blessings to all those who supported the preschool financially; and gratitude to all the parents and students who are a part of the JLC Preschool family.  Without all of these wonderful people, JLC Preschool would not be the best preschool ever.

On May 25, 2018, we closed the doors on a long-time mission of our church.  For every child who has walked through our doors, may you always remember that you are loved.
